The Cotto Rosso, or Imprunetino, takes its name from the Tuscan City Impruneta, famous and appreciated all over the world for the production of handmade terracotta. The working of clay represents a centuries-old tradition for this territory, we testify to the fact "Brunelleschi's Dome" made of terracotta, and a document dated 1308 which testifies to the existence of an association of 23 potters and mezzinai that met with the intent to protect and control the quality of the Imprunetino product. Our furnace makes us of clays coming directly from Impruneta for the production of red Cotto thus obtaining an artifact identical in characteristics and properties to the most noble terracotta of the Tuscan town. Unlike yellow and pink terracotta, red terracotta has a minimal tendency to shade, so we can say that color homogeneity is almost guaranteed on a red terracotta floor.
Disclaimer
Natural Terracotta tiles are subject to size, thickness, shade and textural variations. These features are not precise nor repetitive. As with any natural, handmade material, the product will have variations from tile to tile and batch to batch, and a natural bend is expected. To achieve an even colour tone, it is recommended to mix the tiles from all boxes before the final installation. A control sample is merely a representation of the final product.
